courses,  distribution,  easy

and then try searching this site!

Hi.

I am looking for an easy, preferably MC or short answer course to cover my social science distribution. I might have to skip some classes so hopefully no marks for attendance.

Also is there a way to search this site??

thanks

Search the site… Search the site… Why the &^$% didn’t I think of that one? Well then, let me correct that on the spot. There you go, the site is searchable! (I love WordPress)…

As for your social science course, I would take JAL328- writing systems, which counts as social science or humanities. It’s as birdy as courses get, with short answer tests, no essays etc. It’s even pretty interesting (plus, the lovable elderly prof begins each class with show-and-tell!). However there’s a problem of prerequisites: LIN100/200 or ANT100, which you probably don’t have. But perhaps the prereqs can be waived if you ask nicely, I’m pretty sure that’s what happened in my class.

I heard that ANT253H1- (language and society) is a good one. The evaluation is supposed to be light on writing.

From what I understand, SOC101 is pretty heavy on reading, but the evaluation is mostly of the non-extensive-writing variety.

Also, GGR252H ?(Marketing Geography) seems to be a favourite amongst science students (not that I’m implying anything…)

?

And just one other thing- besides the Writing Systems course that I actually took, all the rest is hearsay. Pretty reliable hearsay but still… plus, just remember that even if a course doesn’t require writing that’s not say and so on and so forth blah blah… sigh… sometimes I exhaust myself.

I’m taking SOC101 now and I can say that it’s pretty interesting (particularly with Prof. Green if you can get his section).. You read a chapter a week (about 20-30 pages in the textbook) and occasionally get some extra readings, but it’s entirely manageable. Exams are either all MC (the questions are pretty straightforward on it) or MC and short answer… It’s not a bird course but it’s not that hard either…but I might be biased because all I’ve gotten is 90s in that course..

I was wondering if anyone has taken ant253 and phy100 (magic of physics) if so which would u recommend. Want a easy course, course load wise and easiness of achieving a A grade. Thanks
