transfer credits

maybe they’re just sad you’re leaving…

Hi there

I was wondering if you could tell me who I need to speak to since I’m planning on transfering to another school next year. So far the registrar hasn’t been much help. Do I need to talk to someone at the school I’m planning on going to see which of my credits will transfer or is there anyone at UofT who will know about this?

Well…………. Let’s think this one through together… if you want to know what credits your new school will accept, wouldn’t it make sense to ask there? Oh my golly, I think it would! I think that’s why the registrar’s office couldn’t assist you with that. First of all, the people who deal with transfer credits are at the Faculty of A&S registrar. But again, they deal with incoming transfer requests. Whatever institution you’re going to should have an equivalent mechanism to assess your transfer credits from UofT. What you might want to do in the meantime is to collect the course outlines you want to transfer, as well as your transcript, if you haven’t done that yet.

I am experiencing the same difficulty at UofT and would like to say that it is the full responsibility of the registrar to be competent and helpful in regards to transferring and academics in general. What are we paying these people for? They remain to be the most useless offices at all of UofT. Which is quite impressive!
