street furniture beats ikea every day.

Hey,
I just moved into a new place and I can’t find reasonable stuff downtown to furnish it. I went to the Bay and to Sears but their linens are way too expensive for my student budget. Any suggestions as to where I could find some cheaper good stuff downtown?
Thanks!

screw downtown my friend. it’s time someone introduced you to the wonder known as ikea. you can find all the shit you want, and get it shipped right to your door. best of all, ikea is apparently swedish for shopping on a welfare budget. sure you can get expensive stuff there, but you can also find just about everything you need for next to nothing.
want to take the subway there? get on the finch yonge subway line north and get off at sheppard. get on an east bound bus and ask the driver to kick you off at ikea (it’s on a corner with a mcdonald’s, a petro can, and a canadian tire). you can get bedding, furniture, cutlery, wall clocks, toilet brushes and pencil holders all at one place. how can you go wrong?
you could also try walmart. the closest one is just south of bloor and dufferin in the dufferin mall.
give it a shot. you’ll have yer old pad pimpin hard in no time flat. cheers,
askastudent
