housing WHOAHs…

Hi, I got accepted into Woodsworth for life sciences but they sent me off to 89 chestnut for res. & it’s a bit pricey for me. I might as well commute to campus. Are there any possible ways to change college or residence before it’s too late?
i received an offer from u of t a few weeks ago, but i am NOT happy with my college placement. i really want to get into victoria college, and my average is 91 (i ranked vic as #2–stupid). can someone pleaasssee tell me how i can get in. i’m desperate!! this is really important to me, as i will be living in residence next year, and i really like victoria’s environment.
I have just been accepted into U of T for commerce at St. George for Fall 2007.
I have applied to New College. But now I really dont want to go there. Is it possible to switch to Woodsworth college? Since I think that it would be so much better for me since I’m going into commerce, and prefer apartment style residences. (not dorms)

i lumped you lot together…not because you’re not special and unique individuals but because you share many of the same concerns.
so you didn’t get into the college you want/didn’t realize that the residence you got into was less than ideal? yeah, toronto housing sucks. but who am i kidding? i might not even have a stove next year.
anyways – the offers for student residences on campus have been given out and there’s very little that you might be able to do. as long as you haven’t paid a deposit, you still have time to reject the offer on your less than stellar residence – so that’s no problem. however switching colleges right now will be. if you’re serious about switching (truly it’s not that bad as it seems!), you could try to contact the residence of your ideal environment…but they may laugh at you. the best thing to do is stick it out, move in and try to switch next year. if that’s really not an option for you – you might wanna look at the student housing website for other (less glamorous) options.
and remember – flip-flops in the shower people! athlete’s foot is worse than it sounds.
cheers, askastudent

actually, although it is hard to switch colleges, i think spots in residence open up much more easily than would be expected. I would go talk to the dean at the college that you want to live at. You might get lucky.
