Like Sand Through the Hour Glass…

Hello. I’m a typical stressed out grade twelve student that applied to the U of T St. George ages ago and only was accepted, actually, days ago.
While I was being wooed by other univerisities with scholarships and such, I stared at “Pending Review” on Toronto’s site for months!

They’ve sent me a package that basically says Innis is my college but they may not have residency for me.
With nearly a week to decide, I must know: What are the chances of me actually living at Innis, or am I forced onto my second choice (which I randomly decided as New College, but apparently the ‘new’ is kin to the ‘green’ in Greenland).

So I saw your url on the pamplet and decided to try my luck.

When I read your inquiry my heart strings were tugged a little bit.? Your story is almost identical to mine.? Only, back in my grade twelve day, I wouldn?t have attempted at the funny that you had.? Was that a positive comment?? A negative comment?? Who cares.? I?m feeling ambiguous today.?

There?s just one Jiminy Glick in your question, however.? You wouldn?t go to New College if you weren?t granted a spot in the residence.? The place you would end up is Chestnut.? So, this is what I did when I was in your shoes (do you wear a 6 ?, by chance, doppelganger?) to help you avoid what I wanted to and successfully did:

I e-mailed Tim Worgan at the residence office and informed him that I was lactose intolerant.? (Not false.)? Since I was lactose intolerant, I needed to live in a residence where I was able to make and plan my own meals because being on a meal plan would be too risky for my dietary concerns.? I received an e-mail from him saying that he would take that into consideration.? Then I heard back months later about having a space in the building.

So, basically, you have to keep in contact with them.? Let them know of your interest and why you want/need to live at Innis and they?ll take that into consideration when deciding yay or nay for you. Read the entire website. You?ll find all of the contact information on it too.? And, I know that the first year section seems lame and that it was written by a bitter person who was stuck with bad roomies, but Innis does have a streak of cool running through it.? I was actually a bit embarrassed at how brash it made first year sound going through it today.? Room selections aren?t made until the end of August, so it?s likely that you won?t find out until then.? But let them know of your interest sooner than later.

?

*As a side note: New College isn?t really that bad.? And, for all you jocks out there, the Athletics Centre is literally right around the corner.?? Alright.

    This helped me;
    I do not have a food allergy mind you, but I plainly stated my case and I got what I wanted in the end.

    thank you!
