{"id":10036,"date":"2014-07-22T11:29:07","date_gmt":"2014-07-22T16:29:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/askastudent.utoronto.ca\/?p=10036"},"modified":"2019-08-08T22:59:36","modified_gmt":"2019-08-09T02:59:36","slug":"nope","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/askastudent.utoronto.ca\/?p=10036","title":{"rendered":"nope"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>can u plzzzz help me find the easiest possible breadth 4th and 5th category course to take (both 0.5 credits)<\/p>\n<p>\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014<\/p>\n<p>hey there,<\/p>\n<p>unfortunately, aska doesn&#8217;t do easy. we&#8217;re about as hardcore as it gets here, and in my opinion, if you&#8217;re going to be paying nearly $8k a year for an education, you may as well go <a href=\"https:\/\/askastudent.utoronto.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/pumba.gif\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">whole hog<\/a> and get the real deal. you can find &#8220;easy&#8221; somewhere else for cheaper.<\/p>\n<p>that said, if you&#8217;re not in the life\/physical\/mathematical sciences, you can&#8217;t just wander into a proofs class and expect to blossom. generally speaking, you&#8217;ll want to take the most basic level of a course possible, where you won&#8217;t be missing any <a href=\"https:\/\/askastudent.utoronto.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/whattheheck.gif\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">recommended preparation from high school<\/a> that you may not have.<\/p>\n<p>look into 100-level, intro. classes offered by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.artsandscience.utoronto.ca\/ofr\/timetable\/winter\/eeb.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">EEB<\/a>\u00a0(e.g. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.artsandscience.utoronto.ca\/ofr\/calendar\/crs_eeb.htm#BIO120H1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">BIO120H1<\/a>), <a href=\"http:\/\/www.artsandscience.utoronto.ca\/ofr\/timetable\/winter\/ast.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Astronomy\/Astrophysics<\/a> (e.g. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.artsandscience.utoronto.ca\/ofr\/calendar\/crs_ast.htm#AST101H1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">AST101H1<\/a>), <a href=\"http:\/\/www.artsandscience.utoronto.ca\/ofr\/timetable\/winter\/es.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Earth Sciences<\/a>\u00a0(e.g. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.artsandscience.utoronto.ca\/ofr\/calendar\/crs_ess.htm#ESS205H1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ESS205H1<\/a>), or basically any other science department in the faculty. try not to be intimidated by the fact that it&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/askastudent.utoronto.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/ohgodbrba.gif\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">A SCIENCE<\/a>, and ask yourself what you&#8217;re genuinely interested in.<\/p>\n<p>also, don&#8217;t feel like you have to fulfil all the breadth requirements right away &#8211; this is an opportunity to learn about something wildly different from what you&#8217;re used to, and that&#8217;s exciting!
