Am I not guaranteed a spot?<\/p>\n<p>???????????????<\/p>\n<p>hey there,<\/p>\n<p>i don&#8217;t know if you&#8217;re an incoming student or if you&#8217;ve just been graced with <a href=\"https:\/\/askastudent.utoronto.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/felixfelicis.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">unbelievable luck<\/a> every time you&#8217;ve done course enrolment before, but no, you are not guaranteed a spot in any course.<\/p>\n<p>the closest the university comes to &#8216;guaranteeing&#8217; people spots is putting <a href=\"http:\/\/www.artsci.utoronto.ca\/current\/course\/timetable\/1415_fw\/codes-used-in-the-timetable-listings\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">priorities or restrictions<\/a> on certain courses, so that only people in certain programs can get into the class\/have first pick at the class.<\/p>\n<p>so yeah, always have backups. <a href=\"https:\/\/askastudent.utoronto.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/marypoppinssternface.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">it&#8217;s for your own good, you know<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>cheers,<\/p>\n<p>aska<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Why do I need backups?
