I have another question, if you don&#8217;t mind. I have applied as a humanities student and have deferred my admission until next year. Now knowing that I want to study psychology (and not IR as I said on my application&#8230; Big jump, eh?), I hear that that psychology is part of the Life Sci stream. Does this mean that I won&#8217;t be able to major in psychology, seeing as I&#8217;m a humanities student? Should I apply again, this time indicating a preference for life science?<\/p>\n<p>Thank you very much for helping, you&#8217;re awesome.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014<\/p>\n<p>hey there,<\/p>\n<p>yeah, i know, you just can&#8217;t get enough of me, right? what can i say, i have that effect on people&#8230;it&#8217;s not something you can teach, you&#8217;re either <a href=\"https:\/\/askastudent.utoronto.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/beyonce.gif\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">born with it<\/a> or <a href=\"http:\/\/img2-2.timeinc.net\/people\/i\/2014\/sandbox\/news\/140303\/miley-cyrus-600x450.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">not<\/a>&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>anyway. DON&#8217;T apply again. it <a href=\"https:\/\/askastudent.utoronto.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/kingsleyirrelevant.gif\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">doesn&#8217;t REALLY matter<\/a> what you come into uoft doing. if you&#8217;re a first year in the faculty of arts &amp; science, you&#8217;re pretty much the same as all the other first years in the faculty of arts &amp; science. just a part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/askastudent.utoronto.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/zombiecrowd.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">faceless, nameless hoard<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>if you want to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.artsandscience.utoronto.ca\/ofr\/calendar\/crs_psy.htm#ASMAJ1160\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">major in psychology<\/a>, the only thing you need to do is make sure you enrol in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.artsandscience.utoronto.ca\/ofr\/calendar\/crs_psy.htm#PSY100H1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">PSY100H1<\/a>. that course doesn&#8217;t have any <a href=\"http:\/\/www.artsci.utoronto.ca\/current\/course\/timetable\/1314_fw\/step-3#indicators\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">enrolment controls<\/a>, so you&#8217;re free to take it in first year.<\/p>\n<p>as long as you take it and do well (and you <a href=\"http:\/\/home.psych.utoronto.ca\/undergraduate\/calculus.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">took calculus in grade 12<\/a>), you&#8217;re eligible and competitive to get a spot in a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.artsandscience.utoronto.ca\/ofr\/calendar\/crs_psy.htm#ASSPE1160\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">psych subject POSt<\/a>. just make sure to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.artsci.utoronto.ca\/current\/course\/subject-post-enrolment\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">apply to the major after first year<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>if you have any more questions about psych, feel free to browse aska&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/askastudent.utoronto.ca\/?cat=63\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">psychology tag<\/a>, &#8217;cause i get an ungodly amount of questions about psych at uoft. they should just give me an honorary degree at this point, i&#8217;m thinking. but they keep telling me there are &#8220;protocols&#8221; and i can&#8217;t just &#8220;waltz into their office demanding a degree.&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/askastudent.utoronto.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/housenyahnyahnyah.gif\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">whatever<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>cheers,<\/p>\n<p>aska<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hey!
