Hey guys,<\/strong><\/p>\n

I want to get into life science, but I’m not sure which program to major in. My ultimate goal is to be a doctor, and already I’ve been hearing stuff about how hard it is and how much marks count. I was wondering which is the easiest program to major in?<\/strong><\/p>\n

You wanna become a doctor, and yet are unwilling to endure the pains of undergrad life-sci? Am I the only one sensing the sweet stench of irony here? Actually, irony is not the right word. There are others that come to mind, but I’ll have to exert some self-censorship in this case.<\/p>\n

Dude (or lassie), I don’t know how to break this to you, but med-school is super super hard. Unless you’re House<\/a>. But he doesn’t exist. So taking a “light-weight” (whatever that means) undergraduate program may not be the best path towards a career in medicine. Not that a life-sci undergrad degree (which includes dozens of possible programs and combinations) is required for med school (or so they say), but it’s a good way to get accustomed to that world.<\/p>\n

Plus, the types of courses you have to take for life science programs may help you be better prepared for the MCATs. If you’re really serious about med school, and not just saying “I wanna be a doctor” because it’s sounds like something that you think you should be saying, I’d advise you to at least try<\/em> to get in a life science program. Worst case, you may find out that your true talents lie elsewhere.<\/p>\n

And if?you’re asking what the best Life Science program is,?I’m not sure. I am not, nor will ever be, a science student. Moreover, there isn’t a pre-med program at UofT per se. Again, if you are serious, I think the best thing to do is to apply for the science admission category, take the first year required courses (which are pretty much the same for all the life science programs), and at the end of the first year you can make a more informed choice.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
