{"id":1412,"date":"2009-02-13T14:20:01","date_gmt":"2009-02-13T19:20:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/askastudent.utoronto.ca\/?p=1412"},"modified":"2009-02-13T14:20:01","modified_gmt":"2009-02-13T19:20:01","slug":"hanoi-here-i-come","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/askastudent.utoronto.ca\/?p=1412","title":{"rendered":"Hanoi, here i come!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Do you know any courses, aside from the language courses, that focuses on things related to Vietnam?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">There ain&#8217;t a whole lot, I&#8217;ll tell you that much.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">What I did find is HIS315H1- Narratives of &#8220;Viet Nam&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Another possibility is HIS283Y- Southeast Asian Crossroads, which doesn&#8217;t deal specifically with Vietnam but probably touches upon relevant issues.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">HIS479H1- American Foreign Policy Since WWII, deals with the Vietnam war, and in general seems like the kind of course that will turn you into a left wing extremist, if you&#8217;re into that.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Along those lines, you have HIS473Y- The U.S and Asia in the Cold War Era.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Um&#8230; I don&#8217;t know what else. If you&#8217;re super-super interested, you may want to ask for an independent studies course at the History\/EAS department. Maybe there&#8217;s some Vietnam specialist out there that&#8217;s just dying to have an eager undergrad to convey his wisdom to.
