soo… i’m feaking out. this past little while has been stressful enough with a lot of family stuff going on and being the idiot that i am…i decided not to “take it easy” like the people at registrars suggested and instead just kept plowing through anyways…. now i have a fear of being suspended for a semester. so now for my questions
\na) if i am suspended for a semester does this tarnish my rep of getting into teacher’s program at u of t?
\nb) does the u of t teacher’s program look at all 4 years or the final year.. or what?
\nc) be honest with him… with a screwed up past like this and a possible suspension… what are my chances of even getting into a teacher’s program if i pull my marks up high next year?
\nd) can an academic suspension be petitioned? and what are the chances of it going through?

When you apply to OISE they look at your final two-three years of study, looking for a mid B average (it differs according to the specific program, I think, check out their site<\/a>).<\/p>\n

So with one year left I don’t know what your chances are, but if you want to make it you’re gonna have to pull yourself together and start excelling (after the suspension, that is). Basically, suspension does not categorically eliminate your chances, but you’re going to have to work super hard to compensate for your academic slip-up. You’re also going to have to come up with some bad ass explanation upon application. And those people are the teachers’ teachers, so believe me, if there’s an excuse that’s been uttered somewhere by an unfortunate student, they’ve heard it.<\/p>\n

You do have an option to petition your suspension, but the odds of that being granted are pretty slim<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Yeah, so, I don’t know if you’re in a good place right now. Do you think you’ll be able to improve your marks enough to annul the axe of suspension? After all, you’re only assessed at the end of the session, which may give you some time to get your act together… talk to your registrars and see if they can offer you some last-minute plan.
