Here is my situation:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>I am 24 and dropped out of high school with two credits left before graduating with plans to take correspondence or night school.  The years went by and I only ended up taking one night school course, which means I am one credit short of completing high school.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>A year and half ago I began taking classes at Sheridan in Gen. Arts and Science (University Profile) and am presently completing my last semester.  My grade point average is 3.5, and I am hoping to raise it this semester, although I am positive I can maintain it.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>My question is, do I have a shot in hell of being accepted?<br \/>\nPeople have told me that because of my age, I may have a better chance than someone younger or less mature, although I am sceptical.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Please let me know your opinion.  Thanks!!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Let me just tell you that you really struck my empathy gland here&#8230; I must confess that I too am an academic late bloomer, and I also started my schooling more or less at your age. It ain&#8217;t easy I tell ya&#8230; but I still am a big supporter of starting your academic journey after having gained some real-world mileage.<\/p>\n<p>So after this display of senior-citizen amity let me get to the point: It seems to me that your program at Sheridan constitutes a ?transitional year&#8217; (something that UofT has as a program of its own). If you took the relevant courses and your GPA is good (which it is), I can&#8217;t see why there would be a problem for you. It also depends on what stream you requested on OUAC (science? Humanities?). But in general, I think your good.
