I wanna go to UofT but I’m an American…will I be eligible for financial aid??<\/p>\n

hey there,<\/p>\n

to be eligible for the federal aid offered to ontario students (called OSAP<\/a>), you need to be a Canadian citizen\/PR\/protected person and Ontario resident<\/a>.<\/p>\n

unless you meet those requirements, you would have to seek financial aid in your home country. for American citizens, government loans come from FAFSA<\/a>.<\/p>\n

once you’re at uoft, you could apply for a wide-range of college-specific<\/a> and university-wide scholarships<\/a> based on financial need, academic excellence, and community involvement.<\/p>\n

finally, there is the financial aid we are all eligible for: sitting in the spadina subway station with a beat-up banjo, singing forlornly about the cost of tuition while people pityingly drop nickels into our empty tim’s cups*.<\/p>\n
