I got in. But missed the deadline for scholarships (Feb 27!), probably cannot afford to actually go unless I sell my soul to a bank, or anyone who would want to buy it in exchange for an education. Anyone?
\nHow bad is it to borrow from the bank? Im working full time…and I have no financial help from my parents. What can I do? I would love some help in terms of resources, if there are scholarships left…Im looking but there is not much. I applied to UTAPS already. Anything else? Thank you very much.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I think I immediately churn at the thought of taking a bank loan, but that’s just my personal bias, shaped by years and years of parental resentment against the financial industry. So maybe taking OSAP, or some other provincial loan would be an automatic response on my behalf (which raises a good question- who should you sell you soul to, the bank or the state?)<\/p>\n

I think the clear advantage of the OSAP option is that by applying to government funding, you are eligible for other forms of financial assistance, both provincial and university-originating. One of these options is the Queen Elizabeth scholarship, offered for first year students who have applied to OSAP. Plus, your eligibility for UTAPS is determined according to your OSAP assessment. In any case, in the beginning of the fall semester the college-based bursaries start to kick in. So the best thing for you to do is to set up an appointment with your college registrar, the sooner the better, and ask to meet with a financial counselor to discuss your options.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
