course selection for the half-year winter courses takes place at the same time as fall courses, yes! we\u2019re talking enrollment around the end of july– stay posted for an email from your registrar. obviously, space allowing, you\u2019ll be able to switch those winter courses around for much longer than you will the fall ones.<\/span><\/p>\n

info dump time<\/a>: you know if a course is half or full year based on the letter right after the course code. for example, ENG102H1S has an \u2018H\u2019 after the ENG102. an \u2018H\u2019 indicates a half-year course, whereas a \u2018Y\u2019 would tell you it\u2019s a full year<\/span><\/p>\n

what do the other numbers and letters mean, do you ask? the \u20181\u2019 indicates that it\u2019s a course at st. george; i\u2019m pretty sure \u20185\u2019 means UTM and i guess if you see another number we\u2019re talking utsc. meanwhile, the \u2018s\u2019 tells you which semester the course is offered in (first or second, in this case second). <\/span><\/p>\n

so if ENG102 was a full-year course offered at UTM, it would read as \u2018ENG102Y5\u2019. if it was a half-year course still at st. george but in the first sem, it would read \u2018ENG102H1F\u2019. <\/span><\/p>\n
