I posted some of my assignment questions questions to chegg, and have received answers. I did not submit the assignment, and I did drop the course. Will I still be seen as guilty of academic misconduct, even if I never utilized the chegg answers?<\/p>\n

thanks for reaching out. your case is a bit tricky because technically, using or possessing any kind of unauthorized assistance for academic work would be considered an academic offence (u of t\u2019s code of behaviour on academic matters<\/a> has lots of info on this). but since you didn\u2019t submit the assignment, your instructor doesn\u2019t really have any reason to suspect that you\u2019ve used chegg or conduct an investigation into it.<\/p>\n

so chances are, you won\u2019t be found guilty of academic misconduct. but this is a bit of a grey area, so if you have any concerns about this i\u2019d recommend speaking to your registrar \u2014 they have a ton of experience with these cases and anything you discuss with them can\u2019t be held against you in an academic misconduct case. they could also provide strategies and resources to support you in future courses.<\/p>\n
