hi aska, im trying to plan out my degree. do you know if we are capped at 20.0 credits during our undergrad? in short, is there a limit to how many credits an undergrad student can take at uoft?<\/p>\n

hey there,<\/p>\n

nope! i can tell you that there is no limit to how many credits you can take over the course of your undergrad degree<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

i can see how it might be confusing, because we all know we have to take 20 credits to graduate. but according to the HBA\/HBSc requirements<\/a>, 20.0 credits is just the minimum<\/em> amount of credits required for the completion of your degree, not the maximum.<\/p>\n

so if you’ve already met the 20 credits, you’re free to take as many courses as you want before you request graduation<\/a>! ie. you aren’t forced to graduate when you finish 20.0 credits, you have to ask<\/em> to be let out of here.<\/p>\n

but, note that other limits do exist: there’s a limit to how many credits you can take per semester<\/a>, and a limit to how many programs you can enrol in (three).<\/p>\n

you know, i once heard legend of a guy who’s been taking undergrad courses at U of T for like 10+ years. never got a job, just loves to learn. tbh i wish i could just do that too, the workforce is too scary.<\/p>\n
