Hi\u00a0<\/span>aska<\/span>\u00a0\ud83d\ude42\u00a0<\/span>i<\/span>\u00a0had a few questions about placeholder programs for\u00a0<\/span>POSt<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>I’m<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>pretty sure<\/span>\u00a0I\u00a0<\/span>won’t<\/span>\u00a0be getting into the T2 or T3 programs I want this\u00a0<\/span>round<\/span>\u00a0so\u00a0<\/span>I’ve<\/span>\u00a0enrolled in a T1 just to have something there for now until next year. However,\u00a0<\/span>i<\/span>\u00a0was wondering if it was allowed to be enrolled in it for the sake of having a program while not taking the courses\u00a0<\/span>required<\/span>, instead just taking the ones for the T2 and T3\u00a0<\/span>i<\/span>\u00a0want? I\u00a0<\/span>won’t<\/span>\u00a0get kicked out or barred or anything, will I? :c<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

ah yes program enrollment, definitely always a joyous time for many!<\/span><\/p>\n

i’m\u00a0gonna\u00a0assume\u00a0you\u2019re\u00a0at\u00a0utm,\u00a0<\/span>since\u00a0that\u2019s\u00a0the only campus that refers to\u00a0programs\u00a0as\u00a0t1, t2, t3 from what\u00a0i\u00a0can see?<\/span><\/a>\u00a0unless\u00a0i’m\u00a0really starting to lose my marbles, which i guess\u00a0wouldn\u2019t\u00a0be too much of a surprise.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

so first of all,\u00a0i\u00a0wouldn\u2019t say FOR SURE that you won\u2019t get into your\u00a0t2 or\u00a0t3 programs,\u00a0<\/span>since the first round doesn\u2019t even end until april 30.\u00a0and after that, you still have round 2, which reviews applications on an ongoing basis<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0also, from what\u00a0i\u00a0can see, type 2 programs have unlimited enrollment, so whether you get in or not will just come down to if you fulfill the entry requirements for that program.\u00a0so\u00a0before you\u00a0freak out,\u00a0<\/span>check out the requirements for the program\u00a0you\u2019re\u00a0interested\u00a0in<\/span><\/a> and you\u2019ll know with (almost) certainty what your chances are.<\/span><\/p>\n

in the meantime, it is absolutely okay to take course requirements for the programs you wanna get into! you absolutely won\u2019t get kicked out or barred or anything. believe it or not, NOT straight to jail.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

there\u2019s just a few things you have to be careful about if you go that route. uno: some classes require you to be in a program to take them. from what i’ve seen this isn\u2019t super common though. dos: IF you don\u2019t get into your t2 or t3 programs at some point and you decide to do something else, you may have to take an extra semester or two to fulfill those program requirements.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

with\u00a0all that said,\u00a0you\u2019ll\u00a0be ok!\u00a0there\u00a0is absolutely still hope for getting into the programs you want and even if that doesn\u2019t happen this year, you can keep working towards them.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
