hello! i love ur comments and ur advice is awesome \ud83d\ude42 i am just wondering what r the odds of getting a job on campus if i will be in first year in the fall? i am pretty flexible, i’ll work anywhere (cafe, library etc). is it worth it to volunteer while in university? can it enhance an application to law school or into a graduate program??? what r ur thoughts oh wise askastudent guru? thanks a million

jobs are good for many reasons. they give you money, they make you contacts and they give you experience in things other than eating cereal and throwing up after one too many gin and tonics. getting a job at the university is the best scenario because you get to meet people that can help you and! – you make money at the same time.
\nthe u of t job scene is a scene made of incestuous nepotism, so how do you get in on that? by knowing your relatives. make friends with people that have jobs at the university (hey there!), inquire at various positions around campus, use the career centre. just having experience can enhance a graduate school application. (i know bowling green university is going to be impressed by mine!) any connections you can make will ultimately be valuable, since you can’t predict who the people you know may already know. get to work.
\nchances are, if you can get one job at the university, it will be easier to get another.
