Hey there,<\/p>\n

So, I am in like, a serious dilemma and I hope you can help me. I go to UTM and I am in the Management program in first year, but I am already struggling a lot with the economics and I know I will have a lot of problems with accounting and stuff too, because I am REALLY good in Social Sciences but anything with numbers is just .. no.<\/p>\n

Anyways, I want to change to the CCIT program. And I want to drop ECO100Y and MGT120H like, asap. I am taking 4.5 credits, so if I drop the 2 I will have only 3 credits. Then I am planning on taking the two prerequisites for the CCIT program over the summer and then applying for the CCIT Subject Post in the 2nd round when I have 4.0 credits. But then either way I will be applying really late into a super competitive program and even if I get in the courses I need will probably be all full. So what should I do?? I am so confused!<\/p>\n

So step one would be to calm down<\/a>. In first year, everything seems like a struggle.<\/p>\n

If you really are being tortured by Management and you’re set on dropping those courses though, I recommend picking up an additional course or two in the second semester if you can, partly to help bump up your GPA (which is always a plus), but also to raise your credit count. While all of the courses in the CCIT program seem to require CCT109H and CCT110H, you can take some other courses in the mean time to contribute to your degree in general.<\/p>\n

Now requesting entry into a program in the second round doesn’t necessarily mean it will be full. Logically, a department wouldn’t offer the opportunity for more students to join if they didn’t make room for them, right? So don’t stress over the possibility of not getting in. As long as you have the necessary requirements to the program –\u00a0CCT109H, CCT110H, and a 2.0 GPA<\/a>, according to the program description you should be fine. However, if you’re still concerned, double check with your registrar office or the department directly.<\/p>\n

But as an aside, heed the refund schedule<\/a>! Today, October 15, is the last day to get back 75% of your course fee for ECO100Y before the amount drops down to 50%.<\/p>\n
