hiya! i’ve read the calendar and such over+over again but am still wondering whether i need to take an english or writing course in my first year? i know that some uni’s require it… t’anks~

negatory. the distribution requirements at uoft require that you have at least one each of a humanities, a science and a social science.
\nas far as a required writing component is concerned, some faculties (like computer science and enginering) do require you to take a writing specific course. in the calendar they will list the courses you could take to fulfill this requirement.
\nbut as for meeting your distribution requirement, it isn’t necessary to take english or writing courses unless your specific faculty says so in the calendar.
