PARTY FOR A CAUSE! Not that you needed another reason to party, but if you party with this group, 100% of your cover charge will be donated to charity (the group focuses on development organizations). Check them out at http://party.sa.utoronto.ca or join the mailing list by emailing partyforacause@utoronto.ca.

2. Don’t expect anyone to care about you getting into grad school. It doesn’t matter if the whole class is smart enough to be in law or med school. U of T will only allow a few people to get over 80%. If this is a problem for you, switch schools while you still can.

3. 85% at U of T is the equivalent to writing a perfect paper or test (at least in Arts). If you do incredibly on an essay, and there are no negative comments, this is the mark you will get.

4. Get involved. There are ton of amazing groups doing amazing things at U of T. A list can be found at sa.utoronto.ca. If you don’t get involved, you’ll meet way less people, especially because the school is so big.

5. Take advantage of the services that are offered to you (for FREE) as a student. There are essay help services, child-care services, counseling services, tax-filing services, and athletic facilities. Never again in life will these things be available to you for free!

here’s why you should listen to Adele: last year Adele ran what is easily the largest, most successful student group of recent memory. Her group, party for a cause reconciles the previously alienated bodies of students that are really into causes, and students that are really into parties. 2 birds, one stone. Adele is living proof of what all you keeners should realize: getting involved in something non academic can be very enjoyable. All you whiners who winge about ‘oh, I’m such a loser, I study and play WoW all the time and where are all the girls?’ should start partying, cause or no cause.

I’ve got some shocking news: askastudent is not the only person on campus with useful information and awesome opinions.
