Im interested in applying for the BCom next year. It says in the admissions that there is a profile required for your activities (volunteer, work, clubs, sports, etc.). And they want references from each one????? I work and i do volunteer work and Im in a club…does it mean i wont get accepted if im not in a billion things??? And references?? :S<\/em><\/p>\n

Yeah, and I would know that because I?m the guru for BCom. Actually, I?m the spiritual guide for everything. Because I am God. Beckett wasn?t Waiting for Godot<\/span><\/a><\/span>, he was Waiting for Askastudent. I can travel through time and that?s how I know.<\/p>\n

So, you?ve been to the Commerce website<\/span><\/span>. Good. You?ve done a bunch of stuff ? even joined a club! If you?ve done everything they?ve asked for in the application process, then why are you worried? I?m sure you?re a very reliable, capable person who has done some spectacular things with his\/her life. Needing references for each activity is not a bad thing. It?s not a huge, long letter that?s needed, but just a *real* person?s name with their *real* contact information. (Though mom, dad, your best bud and uncle Buck <\/span><\/a><\/span>don?t count.) They need the names and numbers because you could have easily lied about what you?ve done without a verifier. Example: the time in 2004 when you flew around the Earth in a giant balloon as a fundraising gimmick for Terry Fox ?or how you have the ability to travel through time. They know how to count without using their fingers at the Commerce office, so someone will probably realize that Dr. Emmett Brown <\/span><\/a><\/span>was really a movie character once they can?t get through to his 555 phone number when spot checking you. Don?t give them a ton of long letters though; no one wants more red-tape during the non-denominational holiday season.<\/p>\n

The ?extras? are mostly for people whose marks may have suffered because they?re so active within their community. If you don?t have much to offer in the sense of volunteering, clubs, or what-not, then just make sure that your marks are in a good place.<\/p>\n
