i’m a first year commerce student and i’m doing horrible in calc right now.. its
\nthe night before test 2 and i’m freaking out cuz i don’t know anything.. i was
\nwondering if its possible to drop calc and take it again in 2nd year..
\notherwise my only other option is the reprise program – any thoughts regarding
\nthat? any help is much appreciated, thanks.<\/em><\/p>\n

Commerce program means Economic courses. <\/span>Economic courses means calculus is mandatory. <\/span>So, I give you three options:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. take the course in the summer ? it was offered last year in the 2007 calendar, and you?ll only be focusing on the one course. <\/span><\/li>\n
  2. do the reprise program – but you?re only eligible if you?re actually failing right now?<\/li>\n
  3. do it next year<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    You could do the course in your second year, but that would mean that you wouldn?t be able to do any of the Economic courses until your third year ? and then they?d all be concentrated and I don?t think you?d want that, especially if you?re freaking out about the math component so early on in your University career. <\/span>But, if you only complete 4.0 courses this year, then you may not be able to pass go or collect $2 (I play Monopoly Jr., thank you very much) ? hence, losing your place in the program.<\/p>\n

    If you decide to do the reprise program, don?t drop out of your Y course right now ? wait until you?re actually in the program so that you don?t get thrown into a metaphorical wood chipper<\/a>. <\/span>I don?t see anything wrong with taking the Reprise Program<\/a> either, if you?re worried about a ?stigma?. <\/span>I?d worry about not addressing your issue and then being the lame drop out kid later on. <\/span>I know a few of those? oh those guys. <\/span><\/p>\n

    On a final note, I heavily suggest that you should speak with your registrar. <\/span>You could also go to the Commerce Office<\/a>, but I would assume that they might just tell you the same thing. <\/span>I don?t actually know your academic standing and can?t access your grades on CCNet and can?t actually gauge whether or not you?re in too deep<\/a>. <\/span>And really, the only one who should ever be in too deep is Avril Lavigne<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
