Needs answering, okay?!?!<\/span><\/em><em>Alright so is Humanities really a useless stream to pursue? =[ In particular,English? Apparently the only thing to be is a teacher\/professor &#8230; and thatdoesn&#8217;t sound appealing AT ALL.<\/em><em>Noone has told me anything that I could be if I major in English.. thatprobably means I&#8217;m screwed. Fabulous &#8230; it&#8217;s a shame because I love creativewriting but come on, writing for the rest of my life? Uhh&#8230;<o:p><\/o:p><\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-CA\"><o:p>?<\/o:p><\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-CA\"><o:p>?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Ugh shut up.<span>? <\/span>Seriously ? English is such a valuable degree.<span>? <\/span>The more you read, the more intelligent you become.<span>? <\/span>The more intelligent you become, the better you are at acing interviews, being the witty conversationalist, and you?ll develop your own opinions much better than if you were, say ? an engineer.<span>? <\/span>You?ll be able to develop a SOCIAL LIFE with this degree because you?ll actually have free time, and social skills are a *key* factor for interviews.<span>? <\/span>Don?t listen to your high school teachers\/guidance counselors about ?the only careers available afterwards?.<span>? <\/span>That?s lame, and they?re lame.<span>? <\/span>I bet they?re saying this out of spite since they ended up in their career because:<o:p>?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-CA\">a) they decided they wanted a family when they met their second partner ever at 21<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-CA\">b) liked drinking more than working at pursuing a good career (mine in high school literally spent lunch and third period at the pub down the street)<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-CA\">c) are afraid of the real world<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-CA\">d) believe that they?re the next inspirational teacher who will change that one special student?s life, and you?re not that one special student<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-CA\">If you get your masters and wink at the right people, you could end up with a really killer job.<span>? <\/span>How about journalism?<span>? <\/span>And, with regards to your last sentence, I have two words for you:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-CA\">LEONARD COHEN.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-CA\">I, too, take offence to that statement.<span>? <\/span>I?m getting paid to creatively write a response to your comment.<span>? <\/span>It?s people like me with the Passion that find ways to utilize the ?pathless? degrees.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-CA\">?cheers?<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Askastudent <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Uh, sorry to bug you like 10 minutes after I just submitted my first question(LOL) &#8230; but I just thought of another question.
