i’m a big fan of desktops because they don’t get stolen, or dropped, or left on buses and the likes. laptops are always welcome in the library, all the normal rules of course pertaining. don’t make noise, don’t disturb other people, blah blah blah.
\nthe worst thing about laptops is you’ll get two year old technology in your system for the same price as brand spanking new technology in a desk top. unless you really need the portability, ie you’re working on the road, i would suggest getting a desktop. but that’s just my two cents.
