I was wondering if you could illuminate for me the possibility of the TAs at UoT going on strike, and the potential impact that it would have on my classes. Thank you!
Wow, I was totally living in my own little bubble, and then this question came along. Then google spat out numerous search results about this impending doom. Take a look at this link.
So, I guess there is a possibility the TAs will strike. And I guess that would suck for us.
Apparently this has happened before, and what happens in these cases is that university declares a disruption of the academic program (don’t freak out, this link is from 2000).
According to this piece of history, classes and grading will be restructured to accommodate the absence of TAs. Perhaps some large courses would be cancelled; it depends on how long the strike goes. I guess it would be unwise to predict anything before it actually happens. Plus, this is making me anxious. I’m going to stop right now.
