graduation

i’m devastated

Regarding grad gowns, which faculty has which colour? Or is it divided by college?
What if you graduate with double major – one from Faculty of A&S, the other from Faculty of Medicine?

You know, I really put in a lot of time into this one, asking all sorts of busy people from UofT about the secrets of academic regalia. I really wanted to delve into the intricate history of the colors and shapes reflecting age old traditions, how there’s a difference between undergraduate and higher levels of convocation, that at UofT the difference in the hood reflects the type of degree you’re graduating with, and how the engineers graduate with this orange hood, and faculty of A&S students get to wear the white ferret and so on and so forth.

But then I saw the second part of your question and was like WTF?????? A major in medicine? Talk about ?back to the drawing board’… man… that’s just too much for me.

Oh, and by the way here’s a picture of the regalia Galileo would have worn.
