from top to bottom: the journey of the student

I’m doing first year life science and is it ever a kick in the pants. I come from top of my class and am probably near the bottom here. If my TA is completely useless where do you suggest I go to get help in Chemistry or Physics? I’m also concerned about applying to second year programs…what kind of of marks do they look for, how hard is it to compete for a space?

yeah, university sure is a blow to the self-esteem and t.a.’s are useless. congradulation, you’ve learned everything that a first year knows, and in only half a year. you are ahead of the game. don’t worry, you have 3 years to rebound, if not more…
here’s a chemistry tutoring list. it cost money though. you might want to try a study group with your classmates. i know it sounds pretty silly, but i love to spend my friday nights in a study room at robarts with a bunch of other nerds, talking about chaucer, positively charged ions, logarhythms, or what have you. you’d be surprised at what you can figure out for free with other brains to bounce ideas off of. bring pop and chips and you can have pcp (pop and chip party, silly chemistry student).
cheers,
