courses,  keeners,  seminars

more work is NEVER fun

should I take a seminar for “the fun of it”? my course load is kinda hellish (bio, comp sci, phy, chem, math) but i wanna get my distribution req. over with in a class that i’ll probably enjoy. the main problem is that i would be taking more than 5 credits… kinda masochistic i guess.. hm

yes. this is about as masochistic as enjoying being hit by a bus with spears duct taped to the front of it, the whole while trying to savour the fact that your cloths are on fire and there’s a knife being thrust into your spleen.
maybe you should chill a bit on adding a seminar to that list. seminars are usually super easy, but they are a full credit. they generally require a lot of reading and a ton of writing. in mine, a class on utopias, you had to read a full book every week and hand in 5 essays over the year. are all the other courses you’re taking in first year mandatory? can you cut one of them out to take the seminar?
i would heavily recommend that you don’t take 6 full credits in your first year. you have other stuff to worry about like settling in, living on your own, making friends. leave yourself some breathing space to grow. the first year can be tricky and a psycho course load will only make it more difficult.
and thus i have spoken,
