Hey Aska,
What have you heard about the peace and conflict program at the Trudeau centre? What are the employment rates?
Thanks in advance.
I personally don’t know a whole lot about the P&C in the undergrad level, but from what I’ve heard it’s a pretty prestigious program. The admission process is lengthy and tedious, and highly competitive, even for a type 3 POSt. People I’ve met that were part of the program often commented on the heavy workload. On the other hand, it seems super interesting and an exceptional learning environment for the undergrad level, which at UofT usually characterized by huge courses filled with alienated students.
I can’t make any productive remarks about employment rates, but my guess is that the distribution goes bit like this: a lucky minority of students may end up doing international conflict management, some work for NGOs or UN-affiliated organizations, still more proceed to do an M.A. or go to law school. And most off the graduates just benefit from having completed a high-status program at UofT. That’s as much as I can give you. Oh, and check out the site.
