textbooks

wait for it, wait for it: textbooks

The u of t bookstore site has listings for classes for which text books are required but there are not any for first year courses. When and how will i find out what books i need? And when should i start worrying about getting them?

that’s because you are given a slate and a piece of chalk that are expected to last for the whole academic year and for which you will be penalized with a curt slap on the wrists should they break. or it could be that booklists are listed online at the uoft bookstore since that is where the majority of the students are forced to go to pay too much for too few books. some of them aren’t listed yet not because they don’t exist but simply because they haven’t been confirmed or the books are available elsewhere. you will receive course syllabi with a complete list of all needed texts in class so teachers will eventually come through where the internet fails. (isn’t that always the case?)

note that some of the first-year texts are already up, so froshies go forth and purchase!

in any case, don’t worry until september about books though, since enough are ordered to service everyone. the mounting evidence for the existence of alien life-forms, however, should definitely give you the shakes at night.

cheers,
