GPA,  grades

it’s a fox head/lion tail thing

well…. my marks are out & in one of my courses I got a 79/100 which as a grade is a B+, whats pisses me off (mmm a litlle) is that for one more mark I would get an A- instead of a B+ which inturn will boost my GPA by a 0.08/4 (something for me to brag about). can that be done? registrar…. prof???
????
thank uuuuuuuuuuuuuu

Think about it this way- with your current grade, you’re the very best in the B category!!!

Not convinced?

Well, you can always go to your prof. In the calendar (p.497) they recommend that as the first thing you should do. Then there are higher levels of appeal going all the way up to the Dean of A&S. But I wouldn’t go that far, unless you feel you were totally mistreated and indisputably deserve that extra point, which, judging from your tone, might not be the case. Now you have to think about what to say: can you think of any assignment (term-work, midterm etc.) that you feel was graded unfairly? That could be a good anchor for your appeal.

Another option along those lines is to request a “reread of the final exam” (p. 499). The way it goes is that you obtain a copy of your final exam from the faculty, go over it, and if you think you deserve a higher mark, you can submit it for re-grading (which could also work against you, but whatever). But that’s a long way to go for an extra point. If you’re determined to do it, you better start with the instructor and see how it goes from there.
