I graduated recently and I can’t find a job anywhere in this city. Any ideas where an art histroy/fine art type graduate would look to find work?
Thanks in advance…
oh welcome to my world. can’t find a job? glad to have you here in the same boat as me.
ok, as far as university resources i have 2 to suggest off the top of my head. first, hit up this link. it’s a resource developed by innis and it will give some insight into what you can do with your newly minted degree. then go here, the career centre, and see if you can find a job that looks similar.
outside the university, start hitting up monster.ca and workopolis.com. these two job banks are pretty good, have extraordinary search capabilities, let you post your resume online, present fantastic articles about being successful in interviews and how how to write resumes/CV’s, and all sorts of other junk you may or may not need. my suggestion; check them often. take some time to float through the site. then check them everyday. you’ll only have to look at that days posting. if you invest some time up front, the searching process becomes a lot easier (which lead you tons of time to sit around playing nintendo while you freak out about how you’re gonna pay you OSAP back).
that’s what i got. cheers,

I’ve graduated with a BFA and I can’t find any work! If someone had told me I’d be flipping burgers or working for ass minimum wage with this degree, I would have never done it.
Now freaking out about osap as mentioned above, this really bites. The economy doesn’t help either.
Just a heads up for art students-GO TO COLLEGE AND DO GRAPHIC DESIGN AND DIGITAL MEDIA. I wish someone would have told me that…I thought the prestigue of an undergrad degree would have opened more doors-NOT TRUE.
