service-learning

hacking history

hi Aska!I’m double majoring in Sociology and Diaspora and Transnational Studies, and I think that a service learning program would help me to apply the
theories I’m reading / learning about. I looked at the one offered by New college and it says that they only offer it to students from their college
or to students whose programs they sponsor. Mine isn’t sponsored by New and i’m from another college so I was just wondering if there’s a way to work around it and enrol in the course for next year or if there are other service learning programs offered by the university.thanks!
-wishing i could turn back time to choose new

Instead of actually turning back time (mainly because you can’t … ) listen to Cher sing about it while reading.

Here are all of the Service-Learning courses that have been offered in the past. I’m sure if you check back when the course calendar for 2012-2013 comes out this will be updated. It seems like each year they add a few more courses and the selection continues to grow.

If there isn’t one that applies to your interests, and you reeeeeally, truly want to do the New College Service-Learning Independent Study then beg, bribe and offer your first child. They might just make an exception … or they might say no, but at least you tried.

Personally I think “Hacking History” sounds cool! Maybe they will teach you which techniques were most effective and then you can become like Garcia … oh the dream.
