U of T, baby, i didn’t mean it, take me back

Hello, my name is Kevin and I am a student attending the University of Toronto next year, and I am asking this on behalf of a friend. She originally declined the offer of admission from U of T and chose another university, but now she is reconsidering and would like to know whether there’s anything she can do to get into U of T again, and the consequences of such.
Thank you,Kevin

?????????????????????

Hey Kevin,

So is this “friend” a result of a Jekyll and Hyde kind of experiment, with one accepting the offer to U of T and the other declining?

Unfortunately there’s not much they can do at this point except reapply. U of T, like most people(/institutions), are hurt by rejection.

They could call Admissions and Awards to beg and plead, but groveling might not actually help in this situation.

Their best bet would be to reapply or transfer after a year at the school they accepted.

peace and love,

aska

Hi Kevin, actually, YES she can. Call the Office of Registrar and ask them. I had a friend with a similar experience – though at UofT Mississauga, but it’s still the same University – you get a “UofT” degree. I had a friend who declined UofT and accepted another university. Actually WENT for 1 week to the other university, didn’t like it and wanted to come to UofT – immediately went and spoke to the Office of Registrar, and they said they’d still accept her. She was on the waiting list for some courses because spots filled up in July I believe, but she got into most courses because 1st year courses have lots of seats. Definately have her call (meeting in person is better) the UofT Office of Registrar and talk to someone and ask them if it’s possible.

Forgot to mention – if you can, then when you meet with the registrar, bring the admissions letters of acceptance etc. that she originally got in the mail when UofT sent in their offer of acceptance. Well, that’s what my friend did…
