I keep going to my timetable to figure out where my classes are going to be and it won’t tell me even when i ask for a map is this normal? i just want to know how far my classes are from one another? Do they usually not tell you until the night before?

Unfortunately they can release the classroom information per course. I have had some locations come up on the timetable the moment that I register in the course and others be released the day before the first class!
It is strange that the map isn’t working for you (mainly because that is the only device on ROSI that I have a bit of a crush on), but if you look on your timetable with all those coloured boxes, under the course code it will offer letters and numbers. The letters are the location of the building and the numbers are the actual classroom. You can use this handy map, here.
If they don’t post the classroom before the first class … you don’t have to go.

Ok … I can never lie to you baby … you still have to go to class. Some departments post their classrooms on their home website and if not, I would call and pester them until they tell.
