petition

crying 24/7 ain’t my idea of heaven

hey aska. i’m planning to petition one of my courses. the basis of this is basically over stressed. [grandmother had surgery, had to take care of younger bro+sis, parents at work, blah, blah, blah] i was just wondering generally i guess how u prove being over stressed? i mean not everyone goes to a doctor or anything. i just cry 24/7 in my room.

the only things you need to file a petition are a medical doctor’s note (which you can get from the counselling/learning skills centre in the koeffler building), the completed application form and some kind of written statement explaining your situation. these things are available at your registrar’s office.
that being said, if you are crying 24/7 in your room, it might be a good idea to talk to someone about the way you are feeling. sometimes things tend to manifest themselves in harmful ways. and if you are feeling seriously stressed, there might be some kinds of exercises or medication that can help you. it could be very beneficial. and both the counselling learning services center and psychiatric services can refer you to someone who can help. there’s totally no harm is speaking to someone when you are severely stressed out. we’ve all been there. we’re students.
cheers, askastudent
