workin it for the power

hey aska, how do you go about applying for an on-campus job like a campus cafe cashier or one of those people sitting at robarts in front of a computer near the escalators chatting on msn all the time?

according to my friends in high places (at robarts), a lot of the prime campus jobs (aka the really boring ones), are jobs that you have to work your way up to. library jobs are almost always done internally (friends hire friends) or by luck – like my job. which i got totally by dumb luck and through articles about dance cave.
u of t does have a job posting site which you can access here. put in your criteria, the kind of position you’re looking for and the campus location – and it will deliver positions in their database. also, you post your resume and qualifications online.
the career centre is also quite helpful. and you should totally look into workstudy if you’re OSAP eligible.

good luck!
cheers, askastudent
