Just wondering if it is too late to apply for OSAP? If not when is the deadline?
applying now is fine, it just means you likely won’t get your OSAP monies during the first week of school like most people, as typically students apply during the earlier summer months and it does take some time for processing, paperwork and such.
for your reference for next year, here is OSAP’s suggestion on when you should apply:
It is recommended that you apply as early as possible using the correct application for your academic year (see details above). The OSAP web application is generally available mid April, so take advantage of this quick and easy way to apply. A paper application is also posted to the website at this time. Copies of paper application forms are generally available in late May. You should submit your OSAP online application at least 10 weeks before your classes begin, to allow sufficient time for verification and processing.
as for deadlines?the most important part is this:
If your online application is submitted to, or your paper application is received by your financial aid office or the ministry (for students planning to attend postsecondary institutions outside Ontario) within the first 45 days of your study period, you will be eligible to receive funding for your entire study period.
If your online application is submitted to, or your paper application is received by your financial aid office (for students planning to attend postsecondary institutions outside Ontario) after the first 45 days of your study period and no later than 90 days before the end of your study period, you will be eligible to receive funding from the date your application is received.
If your online application is submitted to, or your paper application is received by your financial aid office (for students planning to attend postsecondary institutions outside Ontario) less than 90 days before the end of your study period, you will not be eligible to receive funding.
