hi! im in my first year and im very wondering… i read the calender book and i have found some courses? : science/social science distribution courses which are inteneded for only humanities or art students..? if im planing to take scinece program as my major,,then i can’t take these courses??????

are they really for only art and humanity students??

because before i take scinece program…i want to try some easy level which i think it is………..thanks!!

The list of science courses for humanities/social science is presented as a selection of science courses that are more or less fit for students without a strong science background. These “lighter” science courses are a good way for students to meet the science distribution requirement without harming their delicate little soul. It is by no means restricted to non-science students. It’s more of a recommendation. So you’re free to take any one of them if you want to.

That said, most of these courses are offered to the general public precisely because they’re not that “sciency”. Many if not most of them are not an important part of their respective programs (and their required course lists). Plus, I suspect that if you want to select a science major of any sort, these courses wouldn’t be good indication for the nature of the ?regular’ course offering. But I may be wrong.

So, if you’re interested in “the sun and its neighbours”, by all means go ahead and take it. But don’t be surprised if you get snarky remarks at the “The Structure of Early-Type Galaxies from the ACS Virgo and Fornax Cluster Surveys” conference. Those astrophysicists can be a pitiless bunch.
