commercial failure

Could I take MGTA03 AND MGTA04 at UTSC in place of RSM100 for the commerce program?
Also, is it possible to apply to the program after this summer session? I didn’t plan on doing commerce but now I want to so I have to take the prerequisites during summer time. I also need to know if I’m even allowed to once I’m in second year.

The admission process to Commerce seems to be one the murkiest ordeals this university has to offer, especially since the institution of RSM100. The thing is that Commerce has only one round of enrolment, April 1 to May 19 (according to the artsci timetable), and I quote:

“Students taking required courses during the Summer Session are not eligible for admission to Rotman Commerce.”

Moreover, the Commerce site indicates that transfer credits are possible, but they cannot replace RSM100.

Altogether this seems pretty bleak for someone in your situation. Just from the info on their admissions page, it seems as though you would have to take RSM100, and therefore postpone your application to commerce for another year. I honestly don’t know if your UTSC courses are transferable, and can replace that nasty rsm requirement. The best thing for you to do is contact Commerce admissions directly, get the whole story from them. So go to their contact page, and send an email to ?general inquiries’ and/or ?applicant profile inquiries’. Just be sure to do it as soon as possible so you’re able to plan you summer/next session and make the right moves.
