My name is Hannah and i am going into my first year studying commerce in september. I have 2 questions regarding courses and seminars.
Where can i find out more information about each course (how much reading..tests hard..etc)?
Where can i find out more information about all these seminars?..I have so many i want to take but don’t know much about any of them.

HEY!
I emailed you earlier about the additional information to the courses. I was wondering if you have any information or helpful advice for me regarding GGR107 (environment, food and people) and GGR124 (urbanization). I think i want to take 1 of those 2 but don’t know anything about class sizes..amount of reading and etc.
?
As well, i was thinking of taking either POL103 ( Canada in Comparative Perspective) or Intro to Sociology. Which one is easier and has less work?
?
Thanks alot!

Hey…im so sorry but i have to pick courses really soon and i am unsure about a few things.
?
I have narrowed my seminar choices to either sport as culture, sport in culture or the anthropology of brands. Which one has less work…easier prof and etc?
?
As well, I am unsure about the geography course “urbanization, contemporary cities and urban life” and SOC101…whic one has less work..easier concepts and etc..because i already have calc..economics and management so i want my elective to be kind of a bird course.
?
If you could answer those 2 questions, it would be GREATLY appreciated!
Thanks A lot

Having a four day weekend was marvelous.? I took my boyfriend up to my cottage where we played in the water, took Polaroid photos, played N64, wore funny masks while playing drinking games, ate delicious sea food, and then ended it all by watching the Canada Day fireworks on the beach.? It was romantic and lovely and perfect.? Oh! ?I?m sorry, were you trying to get a hold of me?? I should have been checking my e-mail account like a maniac on my first few days off.? SILLY ME.

I?ll start by letting you know that there is this thing put out by the Arts and Sciences Student Union (ASSU) called the ANTI-CALENDAR.? Here you can get everyone?s general opinion on classes that you?re contemplating taking.? You can see what percentage of students would retake the course, how hard the work load generally is, and how personable/credible the professor is.? It?s really handy, and will let you form your own opinion about the decision you?re going to have to make.? And, the seminars are listed under ?First Year Seminars? so don?t freak out when you get to the page.? I haven?t taken any of the courses, and they?re changing all the time, so your best bet is to see what the last batch of students thought.? Good luck on ROSI at 6am.

Cheers,

askastudent

GGR 107 is not a course I think you should take. Its complete bull and the assignments are crappy. If I were you, I would take SOC first year.

urbanization (with dupuy) i found to be easier than SOC101. ratemyprofessor is also somewhat useful, though it seems only angry people take the time to do that sort of thing
