Hiya, I’m interested in studying film (not making film yet) and I’m looking into the Cinema Studies course. Would you recommend this course and if so, what kind of marks will I need to get in coming out of high school?

you’re ahead of the game, pappy. all you need is to get into humanities at uoft because students are not admitted into a stream immediately out of high school; it is not until second year that you officially enroll in a program such as cinema studies. i have not taken it myself but friends have and they find it “analytical”. for an in-depth opinion, check out the wonderful assu anti-calendarand there should be opinions galore there.
if you’re thinking of the actual course that is required by all programs within the cinema studies program however, then let me direct your attention to door #3: INI115Y: Introduction to Film Study. this course is mandatory first year so be sure to sign up for that if you’re predisposed to signing up for film at uoft. don’t take my word for it, though, as you should defintely check out their website.
