does anyone care if I attend a different section of a course other than the one that I am registered in?

no, technically they don’t. but it isn’t a good habit to get into. frequently profs move through different sections at different paces. and if you’re at a different profs lecture for the same class, you are almost assuredly screwing yourself over, as teaching styles and materials vary dramatically between instructors. as well, if a class was full and you start to attend it, you could be leaving someone who is legitimately there without a seat. and if i were the guy sitting in the aisle, when i was actually supposed to be it that class, i would be feeling pretty shafted. so the moral of the story is don’t attend sections other than your own, for both yours and others best interests.
the exception is if you legitimately missed your class, then attending another section is cool. but if the seats are full, sit your own arse in the aisle.
cheers,
