I’m not going to sugar your doughnut

Hi Im going to be applying to university soon and I heard that St George is
really hard to get into for Life scince, because the take you english mark,
your advanced functions mark, calculus mark and your top three other course
marks and calculate your average like that. Is that true? I emailed admissions
weeks ago and there not replying and i heard this was the best place to ask.
Should I even bother applying to st Georgr if my advanced functions mark is in
the 70’s?
PS Which is better utsc or st george ive seen both and all i can say is st
george looks much nicer than ustc

?

So you e-mailed Admissions.? That was a really good step.? Actually, I don?t know why more of my demanding prospective students think to do that before contacting me.?

I went to the person in my registrar?s office about your inquiry and she called Admissions for you so that the question could be answered.? So I know the reason why they didn?t respond to your question.? It made them uncomfortable.? And, I wouldn?t be surprised that it made them feel awkward because you misspelled a lot of easy words.? Heck, it made me uncomfortable, too.? All you?ve told me is that your advanced functions mark may be in the mid 70?s.? I don?t know your other averages, I don?t know if you?re from Ontario, gosh dang-it – I don?t even know your name.? Admissions did say, however, that the better that you do within your academics (including advanced functions), the better your chance of getting in.? It is a wishy-washy statement, I know.? May I suggest buying an inflatable, clown punching bag to take out your stresses on?

Now, since I don?t know where you are for post-secondary, I can?t comment on your chances regarding your citizenship and location, but I can tell you that there are some red flags raised when low marks are seen.? And last year, the cut off point was at a ?mid-B? if you need a reference point, but that was last year, and this is a whole new ballgame.

I don?t understand why you wouldn?t apply just because of one mark, however.? It just seems to me like something that can be fixed with enough dedication and determination.? If you?re really worried about it, talk to your teacher and see if there is anything that you can do about it.? I did.? How do you think I got to the St. George Campus?? Also, I answered a question similar to this before, and for a different take on a fear of percentiles, click here.

Now, your question regarding the St. George Campus is a valid one.? But, I feel like you?ve already answered your own question.? If you like St. George better, try your best to get to St. George.? Are you fishing to get an answer out of me that?s gumdrops and lollipops about UTSC because you feel badly for yourself?? LAME.? Me, I don?t like Scarborough.? Do I know people who do??? Well, no, because I?m at St. George.? But I do see many posters with people who look happy at that campus.? Why would a poster lie?? We had this saying at my old dance studio that my instructor used to use when we?d whine about having to sit in the splits for longer than five minutes (and I feel it appropriate to end this column with): suck it up, Princess.
