Swiss-Cheesy…

Helloooooo. I’m looking to add one or two first year courses to my schedule this year. I know you suggested taking first year seminar courses to another poster, but I don’t want to risk getting kicked out. I’m having a tough time deciding between a couple I’ve found. Here’s what I have narrowed it down to: phy101 (emergence in nature), psy100 (intro psych), and ini104 (writing reports). Have you heard anything about these courses? Am I going to kick myself in the face for taking any of these?

?From the Calendar description of PHY101: ?The universe is not a rigid clockwork, but neither is it formless and random?. Your question, on the other hand, kinda is.? What do you mean, you?re looking for 100-level course? For distribution requirements? General interest? GPA boosting? Program requirements? It basically depends on what you?re looking for, coz these are three very different courses. I feel we need to get to know each other better? Well anyway here it goes:?

PSY100- Big course. Huge. Like 2400 students-fill-up-Con-hall-twice huge. It?s also very interesting, and would come in handy for um? well? the Psych program. But for others too. Friends (who am I kidding? one friend) that took it say it was great, and even not too sciency. Bottom line is: you?ll be able to analyze all your friends? personality disorders using cool professional jargon. Of course, after a while you won?t have any friends left. But you can still analyze yourself. Yeah, that?s awesome.?? ?

PHY101- Ok I have no idea about this one. But in the Anti-Calendar Phy101 is called ?Patterns from Chaos?, and the feedback from students?is positive in general, but this may not be the exact same course format. If you?re looking for an easy science credit, why not take a look at other courses from the? ?Science Courses for Humanities & Social Sciences? list (AKA Science for Dummies), like the nifty ?The Sun and Its Neighbours? or the snazzy ?Plants and Society?? Reliable sources inform me that those two are a breeze. Whatever, if you want to engage with the darker forces of the universe, it?s your funeral buddy!?

INI104- This course is brand new, fresh out of the Writing and Rhetoric oven! Being askastudent, I was able to infiltrate enemy lines and take a peep at this course?s abstract from this coming year?s syllabus! Which is identical to the course description on the calendar. In essence, if you need to improve your writing skills and/or write reports really well and want to ace this one then go for it! I’ll just add that INI104H and INI103H are actually the result of the splitting of INI200Y (info on that course can be found in the anti-calendar)
