innis,  residence

id what i meant and i meant what i said: a housing word is 100 percent!

help!
Since Innis did not accept me into their residence, and I cannot afford living in the Primrose, I would need to find a place to stay after school starts. Do I have the option of applying for another college for residence now? IT seems too late to me. So can someone help me out by sharing some sites on accomodation? Or does anybody know a good place to rent with a reasonable price and a location that’s near the campus ?

help is here!
you can change colleges but you lose your housing guarantee and competition on-campus residence is so high that you shouldn’t count on getting a space from your new college.

i too would not like to live in a hotel esepcially but i don’t buy this economical excuse: think about how much you need to pay for food during the year at innis rez, add to that cleaning and other expenses, and you’ve definitely got the $1200 difference between primrose and rez. in the grand scheme of things, though it seems like a whole whack of cash off the bat, the monetary difference is not large enough to constitute a valid excuse in my books.

if there are other reasons why you don’t want to live there (besides this financial fiasco) then there are definitely resources to help you out. check them out below. but, a word to the wise: i have spent the last three weeks intensively hunting, bargaining, weeping, getting deceived by misleading advertisements and convincing landlord’s that i am the ideal tenant only to have my place ripped out from under me, so i’d say to go with rez. you don’t know the city, and you can’t afford to fly out prior to moving here to look at places.
go with rez and save yourself exasperation.
or try these resources and happy hunting to you!

UofT housing service is good because they’re used to dealing with panicking students and incoming froshies.
toronto star classifieds is a local paper with quality listings.
now magazine rentals listings come from a free periodical with cheap housing…sometimes…..
uswap is a university age-aimed webpage where students post stuff for other students and occasionally you can get lucky and get a cool pad from a past student.
torontorentals – these people claim to be pretty comprehensive and are very toronto-focussed, as is evident from their name.
