substitution may be done in math but it sure isn’t done in english

how generous/liberal are the different departments when it comes to substituting courses?

for instance, I want to do an English minor, for which 4 ENG courses are required. can I take a lit in translation course from a different department to replace an ENG course?

thanks

i don’t know about the other depts but i am certain that the english department will only accept courses with the code “eng” at the beginning for their requirements. they’re sticklers that way.

as for the other departments, your best bet is to ask the program-specific undergraduate counsellor directly.
