Like Sand Through the Hour Glass…

Hello. I’m a typical stressed out grade twelve student that applied to the U of T St. George ages ago and only was accepted, actually, days ago.
While I was being wooed by other univerisities with scholarships and such, I stared at “Pending Review” on Toronto’s site for months!

They’ve sent me a package that basically says Innis is my college but they may not have residency for me.
With nearly a week to decide, I must know: What are the chances of me actually living at Innis, or am I forced onto my second choice (which I randomly decided as New College, but apparently the ‘new’ is kin to the ‘green’ in Greenland).

So I saw your url on the pamplet and decided to try my luck.

“Parents Just Don’t Understand.” – Will Smith

Hi, i’ll be coming to UofT from out of town and my parents have been pressuring me about money, loans, etc. i know things change every year, but i’m wondering if some of the residences are more “thrifty” or less expensive than others?

i’ve gotten my ‘residence reply form’ for New College, and noticed that their res fees have gone up since last year. would it be a possibility for me to switch to a residence that’s a bit cheaper, or is it too late now? Thanks!

    dear victoria, i suck

What are my best chances at getting a single room for residence at Vic (Upper/Lower Burwash is ideal)? The residence application only asks questions like “Do you prefer to study in your room or in the library?” and “How important is tidiness to you?”. Strangely, there’s no place asking about having highly contagious diseases and social disorders, so faking those are out of the question. I’m thinking if I make myself out to be a clean-freak with few coping skills and a need for complete silence constantly, I’ll be good. Also, Does first-come first-serve have anything to do with it?

Can you find the Pig Latin in this post?

ok, so from what i’ve heard, UC sounds like the best college (by best, i mean not religious, stuck-up, or too weird) and i’m kind of regretting my choice of Woodworth. it seems to lack character. i know it’s a little late now, but can anyone convince me that i made the right decision, or am i just going to have to make lots of friends at UC so i have an excuse for spending all my time there?
    thanks a lot.

Woe is Me Who Cannot Get Drunk

I’m a commuter and I was wondering if any of the residences at UofT offer
something like overnight accomodation(for one night)? I, like many commuters,
always end up missing out on late night campus events and parties, so it would
be awesome if there’s a place on campus where we could stay overnight.

does one clique count as cliquey?

Hey there, I’ve been reading this site for a while and it’s been helpful, sooo
    here is a question.
I’m going to be a first year Innis student in the fall, and I’m wondering if
there are particular things I should steer clear from while I’m there. In some
of the older entries, you mentioned that Innis is pretty cliquey and overall
not that great, so do you have any specific suggestions for getting around the
stuffy atmosphere? Maybe any awesome clubs or student groups I should look up?
Or some non-UofT related activities? Thoughts?

give me a free (gross) sandwich

I have a surplus balance on my Tcard for the meal plan at University college (university of toronto). Is there someone who wants some money to eat at the uni cafe? If yes please let me know. If not , what can i do with this extra , i am sure i cant get it refunded. thanks

don’t let the residence stress you out any further!

I was wondering how you get back into the Innis Residence. I have been accepted into rez next year, but people have told me that the re-application process is a SURVIVOR-style popularity contest. I intend to participate in residence life. but I am in University to get my education first and foremost. Am I going to get my butt kicked to the curb come second year?

  • innis,  residence

id what i meant and i meant what i said: a housing word is 100 percent!

    help!
Since Innis did not accept me into their residence, and I cannot afford living in the Primrose, I would need to find a place to stay after school starts. Do I have the option of applying for another college for residence now? IT seems too late to me. So can someone help me out by sharing some sites on accomodation? Or does anybody know a good place to rent with a reasonable price and a location that’s near the campus ?
